AACN Welcomes New HPAC Members
On October 5, AACN announced three new members of the Health Policy Advisory Council (HPAC) for the 2022–2024 term. HPAC provides guidance to enhance the impact academic nursing has on policy issues related to higher education and health care from a global perspective. The three new members of the council are:
- Natalie Baker, University of Alabama at Birmingham
- M. Lindell Joseph, University of Iowa
- J. Michael Leger, University of Texas Medical Branch

Apply Today: NINR Research Funding Opportunities
On September 12, the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) announced two new funding opportunities for research to optimize health and advance health equity. The funding opportunities are for both independent and developmental research projects aligning with the NINR Strategic Plan. Application due dates are November 9 and November 21. Deadline Approaching: Apply for a $10,000 NIDA Grant Award Today
AACN is proudly partnering with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Blending Initiative: Moving Science from Research to Practice providing up to two $10,000 awards to project proposals submitted by students from an AACN member school. This opportunity supports projects that contribute to a student’s knowledge of substance use disorders (SUD) and advances research, dissemination, and adoption of evidence-based SUD treatment.
