Utilizing the text and workbook, "Self-Care for New and Student Nurses" (2021) by Fontaine, D., Cunningham, T., and May, N., guided the formulation of questions pertaining to wellness, self-care, leadership, and resilience.
Overview: Students designed and shared self-care bathroom/break-room posters in acute care clinical sites, collaborating with unit managers and educators on poster content.
Overview:The self-care app, Headspace, was used across all fifth semester courses as a personal resource and as a source of content for didactic and clinical assignments.
Overview: Resilience education was integrated into leadership and management course, and during the N424 orientation. Topics such as nurse burnout were covered through lectures and student presentations. Reference material sourced were from an ATI webinar, presented by Dr. Teresa M. Stephens. For detailed information, refer to N424 Resilience PPT.
Overview: As part of their learning journey, students were required to develop and deliver a short self-care and/or wellness promotion teaching session to a specific group or population. The assignment description and prompts were added to - and included in - the final clinical log.
