AACN Extends Feedback on the New Position Statement on the Research-Focused Doctorate
 
As part of the consensus-building process, AACN is seeking comments from AACN members and stakeholders from October 15-November 12, 2021. Feedback received from members and stakeholders will be critically considered by the task force for inclusion in the final statement.

Register for Upcoming Workshops 
 
Deans and faculty teaching in research-focused doctoral nursing programs along with other stakeholders are invited to participate in one of the two virtual workshops (November 8 and November 17) to provide feedback on the draft statement.
 
 
Apply for AACN's Diversity Lectureship Award
 
AACN's Diversity, Inclusion, and Sustainability in Nursing Education Lectureship Award recognizes outstanding contributions made by schools of nursing that champion diversity, inclusion, cultural humility, and community outreach.  Annual awards may be made to one school in each of the following categories:
  • Public Colleges/Universities
  • Private College/Universities
  • Small Liberal Arts Colleges
  • Academic Health Centers
Nominees must demonstrate excellence in nursing education in both the criteria and areas of achievements listed on the award page here. Each winner will receive a $1,000 award and plaque.
 
Deadline to submit an award application is January 15 at 12:00 PM (ET).

Student Policy Summit Registration Now Open

The AACN Student Policy Summit (SPS) is a two-day conference held in Washington, DC and is open to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students enrolled at an AACN member institution. Students who attend the Summit will enjoy an in-depth immersion in the federal policy process and nursing’s role in professional advocacy. 
 
Meet the New AACN's Faculty Scholars
Foundation for Academic Nursing
The Foundation for Academic Nursing, the philanthropic arm of AACN, is pleased to announce the 2021-2022 recipients of the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant Program. Following.a competitive process involving 57 applications from facultly nationwide, the nurse educators to receive funding for their scholarly projects are Dr. Laurie Kennedy-Malone from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for her work on Enhancing Nurse Practitioner Competency-Based Education and Assessment with Innovative Video Simulations, and Dr. Kristen Munyan from Oakland University for her work on Enhancing Laboratory Infrastructure to Support At-Risk and ESL StudentsRead the press release
