AACN's Latest Advocacy, Coalition, and Policy Efforts
July 21: AACN signed onto a Nursing Community Coalition letter thanking the sponsors of the National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2025 (H.R.4407/S.1482), Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) and Congresswoman Young Kim (R-CA-40), for introducing the bill. This bipartisan legislation would support efforts to grow or establish new nursing workforce centers.
July 13: AACN signed onto written comments submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by the Nursing Community Coalition. The comments requested the withdrawal of OMB’s proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
July 13: AACN signed onto a United for Cures letter to Congressional leadership urging them to push for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to withdraw its proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
July 10: AACN signed onto a Nursing Community Coalition letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee requesting at least $610 million for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, at least $215 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research, and support for nursing as a professional degree in the Fiscal Year 2027 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education appropriations bill.
July 9: AACN signed onto a Nursing Community Coalition letter to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee urging them to consider and pass the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2025 (S.1874) out of Committee.
July 8: AACN signed onto written comments submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by the American Council on Education, which argued for OMB to withdraw its proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
