July 13: AACN signed onto written comments submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by the Nursing Community Coalition. The comments requested the withdrawal of OMB’s proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
July 13: AACN signed onto a United for Cures letter to Congressional leadership urging them to push for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to withdraw its proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
July 8: AACN signed onto written comments submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by the American Council on Education, which argued for OMB to withdraw its proposed rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance.
June 25: AACN signed onto a Nursing Community Coalition letter the House Rules Committee, along with the leadership of the House Armed Services Committee, urging support for amendment 103 to H.R.8800, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027. This bipartisan amendment is based on H.R.3170, the Improving Access to Workers’ Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act, and would retire outdated barriers in the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA) that limit the ability of nurse practitioners (NPs) to diagnose and oversee the care and treatment of federal employees who are injured or become ill in the course of their employment.
June 24: AACN signed onto a Nursing Community Coalition letter thanking Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR-01), Lauren Underwood (D-IL-14), and John Mannion (D-NY-22), along with Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), for introducing a Congressional Review Act Joint Resolution (H.J.Res.189/S.J.Res.196) that would invalidate the Department of Education’s final rule on federal student loan limits.
