In 2023, in conjunction with National Philanthropy Day, the American Nurses Foundation released the first-ever study of philanthropy and nursing. This session will provide insights into the data gathered and some of the longstanding issues that have challenged securing appropriate levels of philanthropic funding for the nursing profession and the work of nurses.

“Why Invest in Nursing Education: Advancing Mission and Donor Intent”

One of the major stumbling blocks to expand access to nursing education in the US is not having enough doctorally prepared faculty at schools of nursing. Participants will learn about a 10-year journey to fund and support 1,200 Nursing Doctoral Scholars in all 50 states. Participants will identify one key takeaway to support their institution’s development goals and increase donor engagement.
